it wasn't so bad in the afternoon, when the sun was out.
but by the time classes ended (which was around 8:30PM), it was COLD.
23 degrees fahrenheit. (yes, i know what you san franciscans are going to tell me.)
so this was how i looked from campus all the way back to my cozy room.

[poor poor keshi]
amidst the furry hood, bangs, and scarf, people probably only saw a pair of brown eyes darting about.
and a bizarre experience:
i got back to NYC on the night of the 16th, which was friday.
having gone back and forth from korea to the east coast and vice versa for nearly 6 years, jet lag was never really an issue for me. just give me one day, and i'm back on track just like that. i thought that was the case this time as well.
i got back on friday night, had a decent night's sleep, and took care of errands on saturday.
saturday night went perfectly fine, and i spent sunday taking care of more things.
that night, i stayed up until 4AM chatting with friends and surfing the net, as i always do. (i'm very nocturnal, obviously.) i laid myself down to sleep, thinking i wouldn't need an alarm since there were no classes on monday. "i'll sleep in a little. that wouldn't hurt a bit."
ooooo was i wrong.
i stirred awake and checked to see what time it was. it was 8. "weird. i feel like i slept alot, but it's only 8AM." it seemed pretty dark outside, and i thought it was because it was snowing alot. (it had snowed all day on sunday.) taking no heed of it, i promptly went back to sleep.
in the middle, i sort of woke up when i heard my roommate come into our suite. "oh, she's back," i thought. and of course, i went back to sleep again.
now, when i finally did wake up, i knew something was wrong. it was still very dark outside, and it was supposed to be, oh, afternoon? so i reached for my glasses, put them on, and checked my clock.
10 PM.
i think i stared at my clock for a solid minute, trying to figure out what was going on. i was extremely confused. "what? it's night? wait, is it sunday night? monday night? tuesday night? or did i set my clock wrong?"
and then my brain began to function normally again, and i realized that i had slept 18 hours straight. my entire monday had disappeared.
i couldn't believe myself. the maximum that i had slept was 15 hours, and that was back in high school. my max after that was 12 hours, and i had never slept over 12 hours in my current room. a totally surreal experience.
soooo. i went through a short phase of "how am i going to get over jet lag now" panic mode, but that didn't last long. i ended up staying up the whole night. i tried to squeeze in a few hours before class, but that didn't work. (which wasn't surprising, because i felt so refreshed after that 18-hour sleep. figures.)
well, i went through 4 straight hours of classes perfectly fine without dozing off. and all without any drop of caffeine. (ha!)
so now, i am off to bed to crash. this time, i WILL set my alarm. and hopefully, my jet lag problem will be done and over with by tomorrow.
Wow - that's a lot of sleep. We came home and slept for 13 hours the first night, and I set a personal record. Stay healthy, lady!!
